Today I will be doing my last NFC prediction, the NFC South. This one will be shorter just for the sheer fact that I think this division is the easiest to pick in the NFC because it all comes down to the quarterbacks.
With that being said I'll jump right into it. The NFC South has arguably the worst collection of starting quarterbacks in the entire NFL. One of those quarterbacks is former first overall pick Baker Mayfield of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Now don't get me wrong Mayfield has had some bad luck in the past with his former team the Browns throwing him aside. Nonetheless, he is the worst of the four quarterbacks in this division.
Next up is 2023 first overall pick Bryce Young of the Carolina Panthers. Young has a bright future ahead of him but the talent on the Panthers is quite horrendous. He does have Adam Thielen at receiver and Miles Sanders at running back but that is not nearly enough to win the division this coming season.
Next up is second year man Desmond Ridder. Ridder is surrounded by explosive talent on the Falcons roster. Starting at receiver they have 2022 first round pick Drake London while at tight end they have 2021 first round pick Kyle Pitts. Then at running back they have 2023 first round pick Bijon Robinson and Cordarrelle Patterson. The Falcons are loaded with talent no question about that, but are they going to be able to capitalize on that talent? Partially I think. The Falcons are built for the future and I believe Ridder can help them in that future. However, this season Ridder's lack of experience will hinder them from winning the division but they will finish second.
That leaves the New Orleans Saints and there quarterback Derek Carr. Carr is the best quarterback in this division by far. He has proved the most and been established in the league a long time. In my opinion Las Vegas should have never got rid of him. Not to mention he will have Chris Olave to throw to all season who makes any quarterback's job easier. The Saints will be without there star running back Alvin Kamara for the first three games but as long as they go at least 1-2 in those games the Saints will be set up for success in the 2023 season.
The Saints have the best quarterback in the division and that is why they will win the NFC South this season.
