How I Got Here

My name is Garret Kryzanowski and I was born in Lloydminster AB/SK, Canada's only border city. From a young age I was taught that sports were a way to express myself and that's what I did as both an athlete and as a writer. I played every sport I could growing up, falling in love with football more than any other sport. Football became my life and focus at age 13 and was everything to me until I was 23 when I finally retired from the game I love.

In the later years of my football career I knew it wasn't going to be my career for much longer as it rarely is even for the best athletes. My focus began to shift to a love I had my whole life but never given my full attention to, writing. I began to write again for personal use and soon found myself immersed in it. I applied to journalism school and got in and began finding my own style. My knowledge for sports provided me with an easy outlet to stay connected to not only the game I loved but all other sports leagues, professional and amateur. I hope whoever reads this will understand my love for both sports and writing and enjoy what I post.
