The first of today's blogs will be about who will win arguably the best division in the NFL, the AFC East. That sentence may have been crazy talk a couple years ago. But today it is the absolute truth.
So who will win one of the best divisions in football? Let's find out.
The last place in this division will belong to the one time dominant New England Patriots. As you let that shock set in, let me tell you why. Quarterback. The Patriots have the worst quarterback in the division, something that hasn't happened in over twenty years. Nonetheless, Mac Jones is the worst quarterback in the division. He is prone to mistakes that either lead to incompletions or turnovers. With the best piece of supporting cast being Juju Smith-Schuster I don't see that changing. Even the great Bill Belichick won't be able to stop this from happening. The Patriots will finish fourth in 2023.
Coming in at third place is the explosive and colorful Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins have the most explosive receiver duo in the NFL in Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. You can't double team both, giving the Dolphins the advantage in almost any game. So why will they finish third? Health. Tua's health is a huge uncertainty. He missed four and a half games last season due to concussions. The Dolphins were 8-5 with Tua and 1-3 without him in the regular season. Tua makes a huge difference for the Dolphins. Concussions and head injuries are scary and unpredictable. Which makes the Dolphins a question mark in 2023. That's why they will finish third in this loaded division.
That leaves two teams. The New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills.
The New York Jets will finish as a close second in 2023. Last year the Jets seemed to be a quarterback away from being a Super Bowl Contender. Well they finally got there quarterback in four time MVP Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers wasn't the only addition. The Jets added Dalvin Cook to a backfield to pair with second year running back Breece Hall. They also added Allen Lazard at receiver to pay beside second year star Garrett WIlson. The defence is led by stars Quinnen Williams and Sauce Gardner. So what's the problem? In my eyes, oits the offensive line. They have to be able to keep Rodgers upright for 17 games. I don't know if they can and I feel that some close games will be lost due to Rodgers having no time in the pocket. That is why they will finish second in 2023, but don't worry Jets fans. They will be a playoff team.
That just leaves the Buffalo Bills. Coming off 13 wins in 2022 the Bills seem even better this coming season. That all starts with Madden 24 cover athlete, quarterback Josh Allen. He is a top three quarterback in the NFL and he has weapons. Receiving options in Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis, Dawson Knox and rookie Dalton Kincaid. At running back they have James Cook and Damien Harris. They have speed all over the field. There defence is also stacked, led by there defensive line. Leonard Floyd, Ed Oliver and Greg Rousseau will be leading that attack. Not to mention Von Miller is back in week 5. The Bills are talented and should be favoured in most if not all games. The only way they don't win the division is if the Jets get incredibly hot down the stretch. Even then the Bills should keep pace.
The Buffalo Bills will win the AFC East in 2023 and maybe even the Super Bowl.
